Robin Hood star Russell Crowe is backing claims the legend was a Yorkshireman.
The Oscar-winning Aussie actor based his character on an outlaw from a village a few miles north of Doncaster.
He said: "I believe Robin was associated with Nottingham but wasn't born near Sherwood Forest. The facts, if you can call them that, all point to Barnsdale." ........ Robin Hood.
